The Now is Jay Phelps’ Seven release as a solo artist. Phelps is a household name on the international Jazz scene with worldwide streams exceeding 500k.

The Canadian born trumpeter displays a fresh approach and combines genres not typically paired together for his latest album, via the Apple Music subsidiary label Platoon.

Released in June 2023, The Now is already having streaming successes exceeding 200k, with top listeners in Japan, USA, UK and China. The highest amount of streams and Shazams are for the singles ‘Through the Clouds’ and ‘The Malleables’ and both songs are accompanied by well crafted music videos.

Phelps’ DJ set is an energetic combination of Future beats, Tropical rhythms, Amapiano, Baile funk and Soulful House, but the USP is his trumpet. Jay blends his signature trumpet sound to the music, making his sets come to life.
